Prices for Sterling breakdown insurance start from £25.42 a year. Compared with motorway towing charges of around £150, the £90 average garage call out charge and the £66 average call out charge for a flat battery – it makes sense to get breakdown insurance.

We will help at the scene of the breakdown, arrange and pay to get you back on the road wherever you are in the UK and at whatever time. If your vehicle can not be fixed at the roadside, we will arrange and pay the onward travel costs for your vehicle, yourself and up to five passengers to the nearest available garage.
There are times when a car or van cannot be repaired at the scene of the breakdown or repaired the same day at a suitable garage. We will therefore arrange and pay the reasonable cost of taking the vehicle, you and up to five passengers from where the vehicle has broken down to any one place you choose.
If your car breaks down at home or within one mile of your home, Sterling Rescue will arrange help and pay call-out fees and labour charges needed to start the vehicle. If the vehicle cannot be repaired quickly at the scene of the breakdown, Sterling Rescue will pay the reasonable cost of taking the vehicle to the nearest available local garage.
Sterling Insurance also offer extra levels of cover to keep you moving in most EU countries, and specified locations beyond the EU. This includes the cost of transporting the vehicle home if it cannot be repaired before your planned return date. It can also cover travel costs between your home or holiday location to collect the vehicle after repair. Cover applies for trips of 60 days or less.
